Sam C and Some Bad Vibes
An audiobook of Chapter Nine from my novel "Changing Destiny's Destiny".
It's move in day at The Jackson Center for Destiny and the house manager of the girl's house has a smile with something malicious in it. Sam C is just giving off all these bad vibes. Destiny realizes why when he calls Blinkie an "it" not a "her" and mentions needing to do something about her carrying her around all the time.
At snack time Destiny realizes that no one has explained to the other girls that she has Syndrome Double X causing autoimmune-mediated autonomic neuropathy causing gastroparesis so she can't eat. But when she shows them her bags of TPN, IV Fluids, and G tube drainage they are genuinely curious and don't judge. Destiny is just showing Kat the insertion site of her GJ tube when Sam C walks in and accuses her of revealing herself in public. She tries to explain that she was just showing Kat her GJ tube and he accuses her of looking for sympathy points. Getting hot all over, Destiny knows it's Sam C's version of the truth that will go in her record and affect the way she is treated in the future.
What she already does not know is that her records didn't all make it over to The Jackson Center. Haverford Hospital's fax machine was on the fritz and only records from when she was ten to twelve made it through, but not the records from University Hospital. The records that made it through are from before Destiny had the words to describe her hallucinations so she was instead accused of being manipulative, looking for attention, and lying. Aliza realizes she's missing records but figures the rest of them will be more of the same so she does not request more. Find out what she diagnoses Destiny with based on paperwork alone and what she secretly tells the staff by buying this audiobook chapter.
