The Jackson Center Tour
Bonnie brings Destiny for a tour of The Jackson Center and an intake meeting. She falls under the spell of Aliza and her energetic kind smile with the slight gap between her two front teeth, her petite five foot frame in the pink shirt and cute overalls, and her chestnut brown hair pulled back in a ponytail with the bangs combed down in front.
Aliza asks Destiny the typical questions. What made people want you to come here? What are your symptoms? What are your coping skills? Do you have a history of hospitlalizations?
Then she shows them a peach Victorian house across the street, it's the girl's house. After showing her a point sheet and explaining the level system Aliza brings Bonnie and Destiny to the second floor of the house to where Destiny's room will be. It has a hospital bed with a heart monitor, blood pressure monitor, and oxygen monitor, a bedside oxygen concentrator, an IV pole and seizure pads. The other girls all have regular beds and have two beds in each room, Destiny has a private room because the nurses will have to give her medication every three hours even through the night.
Aliza explains that the overnight nurse will be able to see Destiny's heart monitor through her office,
When they tour the schools and go to the elementary/middle school building, Aliza glazes by "The Quiet Room". This room gives Destiny a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach that she can't take. What is it about this room that is making Destiny so anxious?
