Autonomic Neuropathy and Horticulture
An audiobook of Chapter Ten of Changing Destiny’s Destiny.
On Destiny's first night at The Jackson Center she is given all her heavy duty meds that she takes in IV form unlike the pills or liquids that the rest of the girls take by mouth. Sam G has trouble understanding the difference and polices her every time she starts to drift off, reminding her that bed time isn't until 8:30 PM and that all the other girls are staying up and they had meds too.
There's a big difference between 5 mg of IV Valium and 20 mg of liquid Oxycodone through a J tube or 3 mg of IV Haldol then there is from the 200 mg of oral Seroquel that the other girls are taking. Even the IV pole with her bags of IV Phenergan and IV Keppra infusing aren't enough to tip him off that her situation is unique. Once again, Aliza's pep talk to the staff about how she would try to manipulate staff has started her off on the wrong foot. She is only too happy to finally be allowed to go to sleep, but even that is complicated. Eden makes her brush her teeth before bed an wear a matching pajama set, but she's not allowed to close any doors all the way when she gets changed because she's on Phase One.
The next morning staying conscious under the hot sun with her Factor Four Autonomic Neuropathy and Horticulture program proves to be quite the task. Feeling sick makes her remember that her days are numbered. This is something she hates to think about, but can't escape. When her mom comes to visit her after Summer Program will she tell her how she really feels about The Jackson Center? Or sugar coat it to make her mom feel better about this unavoidable choice? Purchase this chapter to find out.
