At her appointment with Dr. Kimmens before the start of school, Cassie has lost 12 pounds. Dr. Kimmens calls her mom in and they decide that if she doesn’t eat 3 meals a day then she can’t ride her bike. Cassie loves the freedom and independence of riding her bike, but can’t stand the way her belly feels when there is food in it. That’s when she begins making appointments with the porcelain God.
Her life begins to revolve around obsessing about eating food and finding ways to secretly meet up with the porcelain God. She doesn’t realize how badly these appointments with the porcelain God are harming her both physically and mentally.
To get a taste of what purging is doing to her, you will have to sign up for my Livestream
The event is totally free. Following the reading I will be hosting a Q&A session with the author (me!)
